Maurice Oliver’s Comments

By the time I was six I knew I wanted to be a photographer. So I ended up spending almost a decade behind the lens of a camera wandering throughout Europe. I thought there could be no better way of expressing my creativity—that is, until I discovered the wonder of writing poetry. I can only hope these poems reflect that transition from observing our world by way of a camera to pen and paper. Hopefully, my poetry exhibits that same feeling of adventure and discovery with a clarity and simplicity which I feel have been dictated to me by some divine power or spirit, allowing my thoughts to go where my imagination leads.
