Rich Murphy’s Comments

The poems apearing here in FRiGG are from The Apple in the Monkey Tree. The manuscript illuminates the assimilation of science and Eastern culture into Classical and Judeo-Christian mythology. It assumes that each Western man and woman is a “monkey in the apple tree”: Darwin’s monkey in Adam & Eve’s tree, suffering Christ’s pain in Einstein’s epoch while applying a salve from the East.

Ten poems in this manuscript have been reprinted from print editions to e-zines or from e-zine to print. The collection has won finalist in several national competitions yet remains unpublished. Book publishers may contact me for a more extensive read of the manuscript at They may also find reprinted poems in Astropoetica .
