Alexander Best’s Comments
I began to make poems in 1998, and my art is now a necessary means of finding my way through this world—Id be lost without it.
The poems here were written between 2000 and 2004, and I only decided to group them together when I sent them to FRiGG. Though written separately, they share ideas and feelings—via ellipsis.
I “talk out” a poem, often while walking somewhere (I neither drive nor cycle); I write down the poem next, sometimes on scraps of paper I find in the street.
I consider my poems unfinished—the reader—a stranger—completes them.
