Lara Candland

*the scarlet’s clutch

* the bone’s mausoleum

*the logorithm’s primer

*dumb testifier’s phosphor fractures
into wings—our interview
unskeined before jehovah assented

*our cherished wadings in nightgowns,
his boots, her frock conferred
upon the peat—the savory fire
of winter burns too far away

*the glass blower fills the sky with
a black eclipse, the anthracite
won’t burn—the coaly night
lays hidden
