Meridith Gresher’s Comments

I divide my life into two: before the fire and after the fire. The one link in this dissident chain is that each poem was written after my house fire. Some poems contain more of me than others, some are based on real life characters, some are born out of a specific emotion. The how and why of it really doesn’t matter.

Neil Simon says “all work is autobiography.” Well, I believe all reading is, too. Take these poems. Make of them what you will. Make of them who you are. They are yours now.
