Amy Sprague’s Comments
Vapor was the first poem I wrote in college, at the age of 25. It was an assignment in my first class and it sort of wrote itself. Im still struggling with its definitionit means so many things that I still feel to this day.
The Elements of Loss honestly makes me cry every time I read it. Its clips of past and present and the vague bubble around both. The truth at the end has no answer, much like Vapor.
And Hamsa was written after coming out of a heavy medication treatmentI woke up and I wanted a mother.
